Tiptree Tawny Orange Marmalade, 12 oz Jar
Tiptree Tawny is a rich, dark, full-flavored thick-cut Seville orange marmalade made the traditional way. Whole Seville oranges are gently simmered until the peel is tender, then prepared by hand: pulp scooped, pips sieved, and thick peel cut. The fruit is cooked with sugar in small batches in copper-bottomed pans, left to rest overnight, and cooked a third time so the sugar caramelizes. That extra step gives Tawny its deep color and full-bodied, slightly bitter citrus character.
The Wilkin family has farmed at Tiptree, Essex, since 1757 and made preserves there since 1885. They select the oranges in Seville each year. No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
Spread on toast, English muffins, scones, or biscuits. Excellent with aged cheeses (Gouda, Jarlsberg, pecorino) or as a glaze and filling.
