WHY WE MADE THIS:

PRIMAL KITCHEN™ dressings are made with centrifuge-extracted avocado oil and are 100% refined sugar and trans fat free. Avocado oil is known to increase nutrient absorption of food it’s paired with. In our opinion, there’s no reason to eat salad with dressing made of any other oil.

Our Greek Vinaigrette features ingredients like oil of oregano, with an exceptionally high ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity), which means it’s packed with antioxidants that help protect against disease and accelerated aging.

All our dressings are primal/paleo approved and dairy, soy, refined sugar and gluten free. With a little help from PRIMAL KITCHEN™ Dressings, your salad can do what it’s supposed to—fill your body with vitamins, minerals and tons of healthy goodness. Enjoy!

FAQS

Q: WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF YOUR DRESSINGS?A: One year unopened. Please refrigerate after opening.Q: DO PRIMAL KITCHEN™ DRESSINGS NEED TO BE REFRIGERATED?A: It can stay in your pantry until opened. Once opened, keep refrigerated.
Q: WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF AVOCADO OIL?A: Full, rich, lingering flavor aside, we chose avocado oil for its fat composition, phytosterols and polyhydroxelated fatty alcohols, all of which are anti-inflammatory in nature. It’s also notably high in vitamin E and monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acids. In a recent study, both high and low doses of avocado oil enhanced alpha-carotene, beta-carotene and lutein absorption from a salad by as much as 15 times compared to a salad without avocado oil.
Q: ARE YOUR DRESSINGS WHOLE30®-APPROVED?A: The Ranch Dressing and Greek Vinaigrette/Marinade are Whole30-Approved.
Q: ARE YOUR DRESSINGS VEGAN?A: Our Greek Vinaigrette/Marinade is vegan. Our Honey Mustard is not due to the presence of honey. And our Ranch contains organic cage-free eggs, so it is not vegan.Q: ARE YOUR DRESSINGS KOSHER?A: Not yet, but we’re working on certification!Q: YOUR RANCH DRESSING HAS NUTRITIONAL YEAST, WHAT IS IT AND WHAT ARE SOME OF THE NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS?A: Nutritional yeast has long been considered a healthy dietary supplement because it’s both low in calories and carbs, and high in protein. It's often used as a cheese replacement in dairy-free recipes because it has a naturally cheesy, nutty, savory taste. Nutritional yeast also contains iron, fiber, folic acid, selenium, zinc, and B vitamins, including vitamin B12. Many people who avoid meat add nutritional yeast to their diet for B12 supplementation. Nutritional yeast is not “active,” meaning it doesn’t grow inside your stomach and deprive you of nutrients like baking nutritional yeast can.
Q: IS NUTRITIONAL YEAST GLUTEN-FREE?A: Nutritional yeast is naturally gluten-free. It is not derived from gluten, nor does it contain gluten. It's actually grown on molasses. But don't worry, there's no sugar in the final product. It is a highly sought after vegan source of B12.
Q: WHAT IS GUM ACACIA?A: Gum acacia, also known as gum arabic, is derived from the sap of the acacia tree. It was once used by ancient Egyptian civilizations to treat a variety of medical conditions such as healing wounds, sore throats and addressing digestive issues. Today, it’s used in products, such as our Ranch Dressing, to keep the emulsion together or you can find it in capsule or powder form in the aisles of most health food stores.

A small-scale human trial published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that when healthy men ingested a daily helping of 25 grams of gum acacia, the only effects experienced were a slight reduction in cholesterol serum and an increase in breath hydrogen, which is a marker of intestinal bacteria metabolism. The British Journal of Nutrition published a study that confirmed the prebiotic potential of gum acacia. Healthy volunteers who consumed gum acacia showed an increase in the growth of beneficial gut bacteria bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. In fact, the researchers concluded that gum acacia was as effective as the prebiotic inulin, which is a popular prebiotic supplement!
