LivingNutz Rainforest Crunch Nut Brittle, Certified Organic Raw Nuts  - Pack of 2

Our Rainforest Crunch Nut Brittle is:

  • Sprouted
  • Brazil nuts and cashews grown in Brazil/Bolivia
  • Certified Organic
  • NOT roasted or baked! They are soaked, then marinated and dehydrated slowly at low temps for up to 5 days to maintain optimal nutrition, digestion, and flavor!

We've taken an old favorite and made a healthier and heartier version. We think you'll enjoy the story of how these little treats came to be:

In the late 80’s, Ben & Jerry’s released a flavor of their world-famous ice cream called Rainforest Crunch that deeply inspired us by both its flavor and its mission. The flavor was a sweet and crunchy butter toffee with Brazil nuts and cashews (essentially perfect!), and the mission was to help low-income Brazil nut farmers through the purchase of their crop.

Unfortunately, Ben & Jerry’s stopped selling this flavor and the mission halted, but Living Nutz has picked it back up, only to up-level our flavorful predecessor in both taste and health!

We start with a certified organic mixture of sprouted Brazil nuts & cashews (soaked in naturally pristine Maine deep well water) along with superfood ingredients like Lucuma, Dates, Cacao Butter, Maple Syrup, Vanilla and Celtic Sea Salt that are mixed in and then dehydrated at low temperature for 5 days!

The end result is a new version of Rainforest Crunch that is scrumptiously delicious, while at the same time still good for your health and digestion! We are proud to keep the mission alive by supporting small Brazil nut farmers in South America.

Certified Organic Ingredients: Sprouted Brazil Nuts, Cashews, Cacao Butter, Dates, Lucuma Powder, Maple Syrup, Vanilla Bean, Celtic Sea Salt

Why Unpasteurized?

Pasteurization destroys flavor and nutritional value. Most U.S. pasteurization occurs by gassing the almonds in a chemical called propylene oxide (PPO). PPO is considered a probable carcinogen and is illegal to use on food in most other countries in the world.

Our almonds come from organic farms in Spain and Italy. With all of their nutrition and flavor intact, these unpasteurized European almonds are truly raw and are therefore able to be fully sprouted. Additionally, since they come from Europe, they're closer to the original heirloom varieties of almond trees than grafted California almonds.

*At Living Nutz we’re proud to say that we’ve always provided premium, single source, 100% Blue Agave Nectar in the few products we make with this highly mineralized cactus nectar. Our Blue Agave Nectar is Vegan, Kosher and certified Organic.

The Agave Nectar comes from controlled Agave fields in the Sonoran Desert that exclusively use organic Agave desert succulent plants.
Before harvesting the Agave, the “Jimador” assesses the plant core (called the piná) for ripeness; the poly-fructose content is measured in each one of the agave plants. When optimum levels are reached, the piná is harvested. After harvesting, the organic Agave piná is transported to the processing facility and converted into kosher approved Agave Nectar.

When purchasing Living Nutz products that contain Agave Nectar, you can feel confident that you are purchasing the real thing!

Certified Organic Ingredients: Sprouted Pecans, Dates, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Vanilla Beans, Celtic Sea Salt

The Living Nutz company began in 2002 with a core purpose, to create the best tasting Certified Organic raw food gourmet treats on the planet! Our approach is simple as our intentions were to make an easy to digest organic treat with the most amazing tastes that exist today! We believe in minimally processed and raw foods. That is why we do not roast our nuts. Roasting nuts changes the healthy oils into unhealthy oils and will cause a breakdown of their fats and the production of free radicals.

What we do...

First, we soak (sprout) them for several hours. Why? The main reason is because nuts and seeds contain enzyme inhibitors. The purpose of these enzyme inhibitors is to protect the nut or seed until it has what it needs for growing.

By sprouting and then rinsing nuts and seeds, you release and eliminate these toxic enzyme inhibitors AND increase the life and vitality contained within them, and making them easier to digest.

After we soak the nuts, we marinate them in our different flavors while we gently dehydrate them at low temperatures.

So there you have it. It’s a lengthy process over several days, where roasting would take only 10-15 minutes. Why go through all this? This process helps maintain the integrity and life force of the food product, earning us our company’s name: LIVINGNUTZ!
