Jørnsberg Lagret, also known as Jørnsberg Aged Cheese, is a semi-hard, matured cheese hailing from Norway, handmade by producer Ostegården.   Produced from pasteurized cow’s milk, along with culture, salt, and rennet, it features a well-developed sweet and nutty flavor profile that’s slightly tangy when aged further.

The cheese has a smooth, yellow mass with light hole formation, giving it a semi-firm texture that’s creamy yet structured, with excellent melting properties ideal for cooking. 

Its consistency and taste can vary slightly by production batch, but it’s generally versatile for everyday use—perfect on sandwiches, as a snack, in salads, or for gratinating dishes like au gratin potatoes or casseroles.   For the best flavor experience, serve it at room temperature.
