Cheesy Pizza Party Ring

This fun circle of crusty stuffed bread presents traditional pizza flavors in a totally untraditional way.

Ingredients

Pillsbury™ refrigerated crusty French loaf bread
tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2
cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce, plus additional for dipping
cup (8 oz) mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4
cup pepperoni slices, chopped
1/2
cup fresh spinach leaves (optional), coarsely chopped

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  • Grease a Bundt or angel food pan with cooking spray. Open the French bread and place the dough log on a surfaced sprinkled with the flour. Use your palms to roll the log of dough until it is about 20 inches long. Circle the dough into a ring and pinch the edges to seal. Place in the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 22 minutes, or until the top starts to brown.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes. If using a Bundt pan, invert the ring onto a cutting board. If using an angel food pan, just transfer the ring to a cutting board. Let the bread cool to the touch and use a serrated knife to cut slices about 1-inch apart in the bread around the ring, making sure not to cut all the way through the loaf.
  • Stuff a rounded teaspoon of pizza sauce or marinara sauce between each slice. Then, stuff mozzarella cheese between each slice, reserving a few tablespoons of the cheese. Stuff a few pieces of pepperoni and spinach leaves between each slice. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly sprinkle the remaining cheese over the loaf.
  • Bake for an additional 7 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese begins to brown. Serve with extra pizza sauce or marinara sauce (warmed) on the side for dipping.

Step By Step

Cheesy, gorgeous and so tasty, this is a go-to appetizer plan.

As prepared by The Decorated Cookie, May 1, 2015

Bake up bread in a round pan, slice it and serve it stuffed with cheese and goodies.

I won’t go so far as to say this Cheesy Pizza Party Ring revolutionizes pizza eating, but… you know what? I will go that far. The Cheesy Pizza Party Ring revolutionizes pizza eating.

The combination of crusty bread with traditional pizza toppings presented in its darling ring shape makes serving pizza way more interesting and fun (not to mention delicious). Perfect for any party.

Or you could just make it for dinner one night for something different. It’s one of those foods that looks like it takes a lot of effort, but is secretly super easy to make.

Preheat the oven to 375ºF. Grease a Bundt or angel food pan with cooking spray. Pop open your Pillsbury™ French loaf and place on a clean surface sprinkled with flour.

Then use your palms to gently roll out the log of dough until it’s about 20 inches long. That should be big enough to form a ring. Pinch the edges together a bit to seal them and drop the ring into your prepared pan.

Bake for 20 to 22 minutes, or until the top starts to brown nicely. Remove the pan from the oven, but don’t turn it off just yet.

Let the dough cool in the pan for 5 minutes before removing from the pan and cooling to the touch on a cutting board.

If you’re using a Bundt pan, you can invert the ring onto a cutting board and slice along the ridges formed by the pan at the bottom of the ring. If using an angel food pan, just transfer the loaf and cut at the top.

Use a serrated knife to cut the bread in slices about three-quarters of the way down the loaf. Do not cut all the way through to the bottom. I got 16 slices with my pan. You may get up to 20 slices, depending on the size of your pan.

First, stuff a rounded teaspoon of pizza sauce or marinara between each slice. Don’t worry if it gets a little messy. Just wait until you get to the cheese. (That’ll really be messy!)

Next, shove some cheese in each slice. And if the cheese overflows a bit on the top, that’s good.

After the cheese, shove in some of the chopped pepperoni and/or spinach. I alternated each slice with pepperoni and spinach so my pizza would be striped. Because, stripes!

Transfer the whole thing to a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle a bit more cheese on top, just for good measure.

Bake for another 7 to 10 minutes, or until it looks awesome and golden and totally ready to eat.
